A little something new, and an update from the Atelier.

We are delighted to introduce our newest addition to The Home Collection — pure, unscented beeswax taper candles.

Beautifully simple and timeless, our 10-inch beeswax tapers bring a warm, natural glow to any setting. Available in sets of two, they are now available to shop online and will be waiting for you in our new storefront when we open our doors.

And speaking of our storefront…

So many of you have kindly reached out asking when we will be opening, and we wanted to share a little update.

We are currently working toward an opening in late October or early November, and we’ll share an official date as soon as everything is ready.

Unfortunately, a particularly difficult and prolonged migraine kept Jenny away from the atelier for the past couple of weeks. We’re finally beginning to make progress, and slowly but surely, everything is coming together.

Creating this space has been such a meaningful undertaking, and while things haven’t moved quite as quickly as we had hoped, we want every detail to feel just right when we welcome you through our doors.

Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and continued excitement as we bring Lumière de Bougie’s new home to life. It means more than you know.

Écru is one of those fragrances that feels right all year long, but especially now in what we like to think of as “cozy season”.

Soft almond and creamy coconut milk open with a delicate sweetness, followed by the smooth warmth of vanilla pod and tonka bean. Cashmere wood settles gently underneath, adding a velvety depth.

To us, Écru smells like a warm linen blanket fresh from the laundry, still holding the comforting warmth of the dryer. It’s the scent of calm and quiet moments at home—the kind you want to wrap yourself in on a slow, cozy day.

Lumiére de Bougie’s new home.

I wasn’t actually planning to go to the new shop today. I’m in the middle of finishing a large wholesale order at our current studio and had planned to keep pouring until it was done.

Then my grandchildren surprised me by asking if they could bring donuts to “Mimi’s new store” to celebrate.

And with that my pouring was put on hold for an hour.

Walking into Lumière de Bougie’s new home today, knowing the space was finally ours, was far more emotional than I expected. And there was only one thing I brought with me.

This MERCI sign.

I bought it two years ago because I thought it would be perfect in a shop someday. At the time, I tucked it in a drawer as a symbol of my aspirations to open a brick and mortar fragrance house one day.

A year ago, when we came very close to signing a lease on another space, I pulled it out again. Ultimately, I walked away from that lease because something didn’t feel right. I knew I wasn’t looking for a traditional shop that required me to fit my business into someone else’s idea of what retail should look like.

So the sign came home with me and found a place above the door of our little in-home atelier.

When this space in downtown Menasha came along, there was no hesitation. I just knew.

The welcome we have received has made that feeling even stronger. Every downtown Menasha business owner I’ve met has been incredibly kind, and our landlords have gone out of their way to make sure this space feels right for us. I have heard “thank you for coming to Menasha” many times, and it has meant so much.

This morning, I took my little MERCI sign down from the doorway of the studio where Lumière de Bougie began and left it at 210 Main Street in Menasha.

When you come see us at the end of October, keep an eye out for my little MERCI, and know you’ve been a part of that all along too. 🤎🥹
